Roseline’s artistic inquiry focuses on the interplay between art, consciousness and evolution. She bridges her artistic practice with art based research and expressive arts pedagogy. Her present artworks hybrid across disciplines and media exploring shifts of perception, deconstruction and hybridization. She blends and weaves analogue and digital practices, delving into layers of reality conveyed through poetic mixed media tableaux, light and shadow sculptures, miniature scenes, performances and installations. Her work has been exhibited internationally in Museums, thematique artistic events and galleries. She is the founder and director of the Art Lab Expressive Arts Institute in Ibiza where she is based since many years.
Originally trained in painting and sculpture, Roseline started working with light as a medium in 1996, creating light sculptures in collaboartion with architects and designers. In 2003, she produced her first optic fibre light sculpture introducing digital techniques into her work. In 2008, amidst the rising influence of internet and technology, Roseline creates the “Homos Luminosos,” a family of luminous ethereal beings she carves in optic fibres, evoking virtual, disembodied, and transhuman experiences. The “Homos Luminosos” have been featured in solo exhibitions, thematic shows and publications worldwide. They are part of the permanent collection of the Dublin Museum of Art & Science, and travelled internationally with the exhibition “Illusion.” Notable appearances included the Kinetica Museum in London and the exhibition “Persona” at Paris Museum of Anthropology Quai Branly 2017.
